About Maestra Lorena
My name is Lorena Vargas Quevedo and I'm a native Spanish speaker, I was born and raised in Bogota, Colombia where I was educated in the Spanish language throughout my scholastic career. I started learning English at a young age in school , with tutors and with my own efforts. I reached conversational fluency by the age of 12. I'm a mother of two and have made an effort , along with my husband, to raise our two daughters as bilinguals in Spanish and English with great success.
My hope is that this will instill in them a purpose to stay connected with the Spanish language and Spanish speakers everywhere.
Just as with my own daughters I’m highly motivated to help my students develop essential language skills in Spanish and help them see the Hispanic culture and language in a fun and fascinating way.
About Hola Spanish Music Lingua
Here at Hola Spanish we work with the Music Lingua unique method that introduces foreign language to young children, in their most absorbent years of language acquisition.
Music Lingua classes use music, movement, storytelling, drama and art to present thematic concepts and key vocabulary.
The emphasis is on hearing the spoken language, learning the songs, and in the process, learning target vocabulary and responding to commands.
Our classes offer a safe, stress-free environment that is most conducive to learning. Most of all, our classes are FUN!

Fall 2024 – African Safari
Join me in this unit, we will learn all about the animals one might encounter on an African safari. We'll keep up on our counting and colors, the ABC’s, the weather, seasons, clothes, body parts and movements. All of this with the help of fun songs, stuffed animals and crafts . Come to Africa with me!
- 10 weeks of Spanish classes for babies and kids up to 8 years
